Who We Are
OUR MISSION
The mission of Branch of the Vine Christian Fellowship Church is to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ all over the world by any means available to us. It is to teach people who they are in Christ Jesus, how to love God and love one another. It is our goal to teach people, by using the word of God, how to prosper in life.
Origin

Branch of the Vine Christian Fellowship Church held its first official service in a rented former skating rink May 2, 1983. Pastor Jimmy had been teaching bible classes for several months when he sensed the Lord wanted him to go ahead and start the church that had already been planted in his spirit.
It was while he was a student at Rhema Bible Training Center, Broken Arrow, OK, that Holy Spirit came upon him in class one day and gave him Psalm 2:8 as the foundation scripture for the ministry. Also while they were in Oklahoma, the Spirit spoke to his wife in July 1980. He led her to II Corinthians 6:17-18, specifically directing, “Start your own church.” After he graduated from Rhema, they moved back home. There they worked in their local church for a while. Then by the leading of the Holy Spirit, Christian Fellowship Church was organized.

It was to be a church that preached salvation through the blood of Jesus. It was to be a church that taught the living word of God. It would teach being filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues; it was to be a church that taught healing is for today; it would teach that prosperity and deliverance from demonic influences are biblical doctrines and God’s will for every believer.
The church rented the skating rink building for six years. During that time we bought 20 acres of land at our current location in Houston, MS. The first phase building was built and moved into it in 1990. Since then, additions have been made and our newest building was completed in 2021

Now, as of May 2023, for the last 40 years, Branch of the Vine Christian Fellowship Church endeavors to follow the command of the Lord to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Struggles and challenges have arisen, but the faithfulness of God has reigned supreme over any demonic attack or human efforts to stop what which was truly ordained by God.
Through this church ministry, many have been born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, healed, taught prosperity, and set free in many areas of their life; and shall continue until Jesus returns.

Psalm 2:8, “Ask of me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for the Your possession.”(NKJ), is the scripture God gave for CFC. The call God gave to Pastor Jimmy Jones was to “Go teach your people faith.” Because we believe God and His Word are one, and that, “…Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God,” we are determined to fulfill our assignment to teach the Word. Our vision is to do everything God has called us to do. Therefore, the vision of Branch of the Vine Christian Fellowship Church is to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ all over the world. We will make a concerted effort to win the lost through faith in Jesus Christ. We will endeavor to disciple the convert to son-ship. We will teach people who they in Christ, and teach faith for prosperity in the spiritual as well as natural areas of life. Furthermore, we envision impacting our community and lives around the world through enrichment and training programs, building facilities, and establishing operations to carry out those programs which enhance lives and build the kingdom of God in the earth. Our ultimate vision is to minister to everyone that God has assigned to Branch of the Vine Christian Fellowship Church
With the power of God’s Word, we are equipping people to know the healing, peace, joy, wealth, strength, wisdom, and love God has available for their lives. It is that love that God has for them that we want people to experience by making Jesus the Lord of their life. With much work to be done, BOVCFC endeavors to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and bring souls into the kingdom of God.
