This is the last lesson in a series on the “Confession of Your Faith”. Learn to hold fast to the confession of faith without wavering. Confession means saying what God says about you and your situation. Say it because God can’t lie. Therefore no word of God will return to Him void.

When I became a believer I joined the family of the redeemed. I have learned to talk like a Holy Ghost filled, fire baptized child of the living God. I hold fast to saying what God says about me.

Revelation 12:11 KJV states “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.” Regardless of the circumstances, you, too, can learn to hold fast to confessing what the Word says about your situation.

Satan will come with cunning and lying deception. “Like a roaring lion, he seeks whom he can devour”, upset, and get out of faith. Just as the blood of the Lamb covered them, it also covers us. Therefore when we know the truth we also overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. The truth is that Jesus defeated satan, and spoiled principalities and powers and is seated victoriously at the right hand of God.

Look at Col 2:15 KJV. “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” This is why we hold fast to our confession even when many things  come against us. When we know the truth; we know a lie from satan can never overcome the truth (John 8:44). We can exercise authority over satan because he’s been defeated, stripped of all authority. He’s darkness. Jesus is light, and light wins every time. Therefore we win.

Col 2:15 AMP says “When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross.”

During the crucifixion Jesus was beaten unmercifully and had all kinds of ungodly, wicked things done to Him. They didn’t know they were suffering defeat. He was gaining victory.

In His suffering He took everything we had done wrong and everything that was wrong with us while on the cross.

That’s why when you know this truth in your heart, you can speak up to trouble and say, “No you don’t come here, in the Name of Jesus!”

Firm Confession

1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” Satan is seeking to devour. If he could readily devour you, he wouldn’t have to seek. He wants you saying something like, “I guess I’m coming down with something. I’m taking this [cold] etc”, But based on the Word say, you say,

  • “No No. Don’t you bring that disease or pain here. Get out of here.”
  • “Get your hands off my money, off my children, off my life, in the Name of Jesus!”

How Do You Maintain Victory?

Eph 6:10 NIV. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

How can you be strong in the Lord? By putting the Word in your heart and speaking it. When pressure is on you, keep saying what the Word says. Always make confessions like,

  •  “I have an abundant supply.”
  • “I’m not afraid.”
  • “Sickness won’t come near my dwelling. Jesus is my healer.”
  • “God is my Father. Jesus is my Lord. God is my source.”

That’s how you can be strong and keep your confession coming out of your mouth.

In Ephesians, Paul said to put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles [schemes] of the devil. Then He goes on to say in verse 12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

The devil will try to make you think you’re fighting against another individual, but the source of all evil actions come from him. So you have to arm yourself with the Word of God to stand against him according to Eph 6:10-18 KJV. Put on the whole armour of God. Stand dressed with truth and righteousness; be prepared with the gospel of peace. Wear the shield of faith that pleases God. You can stop the fiery darts of the wicked as you put on the helmet of God’s salvation. In all you do, I admonish you to stay with what the Word of God. Always say what God says. It is the sword of the Spirit, and at all times pray.

Then victory, through any struggle, will be yours every time when you hold fast to the confession of your faith.
