A FAITHFUL AND COVENANT KEEPING GOD
Jimmy Jones
Series: The Faithfulness of God

God is faithful. He is true to His Word indeed.
Numbers 23:19 KJV[19] God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: . . . .

Once we realize how faithful God is, then we must be able to grasp the fact that we can commit everything to Him. We can gain a confidence in our heart as we eagerly trust Him for every thing in every situation. As we understand his faithfulness, will realize that we can live a life filled with victory and joy and peace through Jesus Christ our Lord.
With this realization, we can get excited about living for Him. We can get excited about sharing Him with others because we know He is a TOO much God. Yes, He is a too much God!
Consider this: In any situation that arises in your life, He does not have to come up with the answer; He IS the answer. He is the answer before it happens! (Glory to God!) Satan can’t bring anything in your life that God hasn’t solved before it gets to you. That’s why you don’t need to get down in the dumps when a problem arises. Just take the Word and do what it says. (Glory to God!) Learn to be spirit led. God is a spirit and He keeps and upholds His Word. (I keep repeating myself because I want you to get this in you spirit. I want you armed so you won’t waver when trouble comes you way.)

Consider II Peter 3:9 KJV.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us- ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The Faithful ness of God is what we can be assured of–what we can trust. Hebrews 6:11-14 KJV
11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
12That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

What a promise from God!
God gave that promise to Abraham. Now every promise he made to Abraham, because we are his seed, that promise is to us, too. If you be Christ’s then are you Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29 KJV)
I want you to understand that we have a faithful and covenant keeping God Who is faithful to his s covenant people.

We are not outsiders; we are chosen. God started with Adam, but Adam’s disobedience derailed it. Jesus, however, came and put us back on track. Because of Jesus, everything in God’s original plan has been set in order. Everything God promised Adam is ours today. The only thing we have to deal with is that we have a body that has not been transformed. Sometimes you’ll have pain to “jump” on you, but you have to know how to “knock” it off because everything in God’s original plan is back on track.

But today many saints are living life beneath where they should be living. Don’t dispare; hear the word of the Lord. Today is promotion day! Today, you have to move up. Do not allow problems, circumstances, opposition from the enemy to derail you, throw you down, or make you turn around. Are you grasping this? Trouble is going to show up, but just know that the bigger One, the greater One is on the inside of you.

Because He’s there, all you have to do is rise up and take your place. Take your stand because your course has been set; the victory has already been won. Listen! You are not trying to win. YOU ALREADY HAVE THE VICTORY! Just stay in the race; you’ll finish the course and you will win! (This, of course is for those of us who have been born again.)

This is what I want you to understand. The enemy will try to impose things on you, trying to cause you to change your mind about your faith in God’s promises. He’ll try to keep you from being steadfast in believeng what God has said about you and to you. Listen! DO NOT ACCEPT THAT! DO NOT ACCEPT WHAT YOU FEEL WHEN IT’S OUT OFLINE WITH THE WORD. That means you have to know what the Word says. II Timothy 2:15[15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. KJV
When something is not in line with the word, when it’s not happening according to what God has promised, you don’t have to accept it. Now, I didn’t say you wouldn’t be challenged. Surely you will. You know they came against Jesus. I repeat, “They came against Jesus!”
Matthew 26:3-4 KJV
Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.
But Jesus was faithful.
In the Old Testament Solomon spoke of God’s faithfulness in 1 Kings 8:55-59:
55 And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying, 56 Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised:there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
57 The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers:let him not leave us, nor forsake us: 58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers. 59 And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the Lord, be nigh unto the Lord our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:
Israel was a chosen nation.

We read in Genesis that the promise was given as a result of a covenant between God and Abraham. God commanded Abraham to leave His homeland. After many years of listening to God and experiencing His faithfulness, he ended up going to Egypt. Then years later when there was a famine in the land, his son Isaac was determined to go back to Egypt, but God said for him to not go. Then there was Jacob and the 12 patriots. Throughout Israel’s history which spanned many years and generations, we can read of their many battles and victories and how God kept his covenant with them.

In one example, we see Jehoshaphat as king of Judah after the kingdom of Israel had split into the two kingdoms of Juea and Israel. At one time three nations of enemies came against him. He went before the Lord reminding God that, when they came to this land, He would not let them destroy those people.
2 Chronicles 20:10-12
And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not; Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit. O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do:but our eyes are upon thee.
Although, at first it might have seemed that God had forgotten them, but when King Jehoshaphat and all of Judah sought the Lord, His faithfulness became a shinning light. They called a fast and the prophets began to prophesy. The Lord told them through the prophet they would not have to fight in that battle. He said it was not theirs, but His. To make a long story short, they went to battle with the praise team out front. And came out victorious according to
God’s promise.
Well, today as stated earlier, we still have the faithful promise of God through Jesus Christ our lord and savior. When He left he promised
John 14:16-17
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:26-27
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

You can see by the holy word that God is faithful to his word and if you will put it in your heart and become a doer of the word, you can experience God’s faithfulness to you in Every area of your life that you yield to Him. For each of us, as we understand his faithfulness, will realize that we really can live a life filled with victory and joy and peace through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Blessings
