In this statement the word Love is a noun. So, since God is Love, then Love is who God is. If you are already born again, be encouraged. If you are not saved, you can be born again today.

                                      Love Is Who God Is

When we come to understand that God loves us because He is LOVE, we can accept the truth of the word of God.

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.”

1 John 4:7 KJV

     The scripture continues

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for GOD IS LOVE.” (Emphasis mine)

1 John 4:8 KJV

This Love is life, and life is what God gave to all who believe and receive His Son. Look at what the scripture says.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [Jesus] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

John 10:10 KJV

It is Love (God) who grants us this privilege of life, of sonship through Christ Jesus.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12 KJV

Whose name? The name of Jesus.

All that God is (Love) and all that He will do, can be found in the that name, in the word of God. As you read and study the Scripture, you will learn that Jesus is the living word. He exemplifies true Love. He exemplifies God.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 KJV

Notice that the Word is full of grace and truth, and the truth is that  GOD IS LOVE.” (Emphasis mine). That’s who He is. Love has a way of caring and sharing so that those who receive God–who receive Love–can live life abundantly. I emphasize again, God is Love; Love is who God is. Abundant life comes from God to us through Jesus Christ His Son.

However, we have and adversary, satan who aims to keep us from having that abundant. John 10:10 KJV says that he is a thief.

10a  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

Through deception and lies, he tries to take away that abundant life or prevent it from flowing freely in out lives. But, glory to God! The thief has an adversary in the form of LOVE, the WORD, through Jesus Christ, the anointed who said,

10b I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

This is God. This is Love in action.

His will is that you might live abundant life on earth like He is living life in heaven. You see, there’s no lack or sickness in heaven. So LOVE does not want you to have any lack or sickness in your life on earth. This is the whole reason He sent Jesus, so that you can enjoy the benefits of  life.

Adam’s sin many, many years ago, separated us from God, who is the source of life. Life with God is filled with all the good things of LOVE. So  LOVE sent Jesus to redeem us , and that is exactly what He did.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16 NKJV

When any one, at any time, believes this wonderful gospel **(Romans 1:16) of what Christ did in his life on earth, that person can have eternal life. What did he do? He gave himself up to be the sacrifice for our sin by dying on the cross; he was buried. Then He was raised again from the dead and now is seated at the right hand of God–of LOVE.

If you need a savior, confess this with your mouth and believe it with all heart, you can be saved. Do it and you will be born again according to Romans 10:9-10.* (**See. vv. 8-11 below.)

You can say, “Lord, I give my life to you. I believe your gospel concerning salvation. Jesus, I make you my Lord. Thank you for being LOVE and for loving me.  Thank you that I have received Jesus as my Lord and savior.”

Rejoice now in your new found life in Christ. However, you don’t have to stop there. You can go ahead and ask the Lord to fill you  with the Holy Spirit according **Acts 2:1-4. Receive that wonderful gift by faith. (Get more teaching on being filled later.)

Romans 1:16 KJV

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

**Romans 10:8-11 NKJV

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

*9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

*10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

**Acts 2:1-4 KJV

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

God is LOVE. LOVE IS WHO GOD IS.
