From the Pastor’s Desk
Bishop Jimmy Jones
In the following series of lessons I will briefly explain how God has supernaturally arranged for you to be successful in life. (Part 1)
With all the negative things going on in the world you may ask, “How can we live our lives successfully–free of fear and worry?” We can because God has supernaturally arranged for our success through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. When we look to Him, faith and trust replaces fear and worry. His word says,
When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High,
our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm.
How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us? (Psalm 91:9-10 TPT)
The New Birth
Let’s go back to the beginning. How did God supernaturally arrange our life? He did it at the new birth. When we were born again, we were adopted into a new kingdom. Genesis tells us that God created man in His own image and after His likeness (Gen 1:27). He gave man (mankind) everything necessary for a successful life. There was nothing evil, violent, or wicked. It was perfect.
What happened to this perfection? Adam, the first man, committed sin that separated him from God. This allowed our enemy, satan, into the world. Ever since then, satan has been wreaking havoc. But God had a divine plan to restore man back to Himself.
More than 2000 years ago God sent His Son Jesus into the world as a man. He lived, died, and rose again fulfilling His mission on earth. After He was raised from the dead, Jesus told His disciples “Go into all the world and preach this Gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). His perfect plan for a successful life was complete.
When we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, that plan makes us new (2 Cor. 5:17). Even though we are in this world, we are not of this world. So the evil that comes against us cannot overtake us. Why? Because God has promised that He will protect us, He will keep us, and He will never leave us (Ps 91, Matt 28:20).
When we have His life in our spirit, we become one with Him (John 17:21). Since His Spirit now lives in our heart, God’s life, nature, ability, and wisdom is present to give us success in life. He will be our guide as we yield to God’s will (John 16:13).
Stand on the Truth
With this new life of success, the enemy will come with his lies and deception trying to take away what God has given us through the sacrifice of His son. However, we can stand our ground based on the truth of what God already has done for us. We can rebuke and resist satan in the name of Jesus because we are in the secret place with God where evil cannot dwell.
As we study the Word of God, He reveals to us through the Scripture who we are and what has been given to us. We have God given, blood bought redemptive rights to success. The God we trust has no failure in Him. Every promise He has made and every word that comes out of His mouth is true (John 17:17). It will not return to Him void (Isa 55:11). It will not fail.
The Greater One
Success is yours because now God’s nature lives on the inside of you. How can you not succeed in life? The Word says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4 KJV)
Since you have been joined to Him and have His life, His nature, His ability, and His wisdom, the greater One is alive in your spirit. His Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost, and when you receive Him, He becomes the greater One inside you. It is the life of God and the Spirit of God. How can a lesser, a defeated foe–satan, overcome the greater One–God? It’s impossible.
For your success, you must develop your faith in the Word of God, grow up by learning who you are, and understand that you cannot be overcome or defeated as long as you are taught by Him (John 16:13). Poverty, lack, wickedness, evil, trouble, sorrow, and all those things that come against you, cannot overcome you. Your success comes by developing your spirit in this truth. Then you have to put it into practice every day of your life. Stay faithful to God. Success will come. The Bible says that as a believer, you walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor 5:7).
He Hears Us
Listen to this faith statement regarding success in your life. In His kingdom God has provided for you everything you need in life. There is nothing missing, nothing lacking, and nothing broken. Everything you will ever need, God, through Jesus Christ, has provided in abundance. It is limitless and will never run out (2 Peter 1:2-4 AMPC).
We have this promise that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. 1 John 5:15 KJV “And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” That means you should never go to God in prayer and walk away without the answer because your confidence is in Him. The scripture says “call unto me and I will answer thee…” (Jer 33:3). All you need to do is read His Word to find out His will so that your prayers can be answered.
Understand these truths so that you can access all God has provided for you in life. All our needs are met: spiritually, mentally, physically, financially, and socially. We can live our lives successfully according to God’s supernatural plan.
